Warriors star Stephen Curry declares his intention to compete for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics.
Eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA selection, two-time scoring champion, one-off finals MVPtwo-time regular season MVP and four-time NBA champion. Stephen Curry has done it all in the NBA during his illustrious career with Golden State Warriors. The only thing missing from his trophy case is one Olympic gold medal.
Where will the next NBA Olympics be?
Curry can finally get his shot at the elusive medal on 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. GOAT shooter’s willingness to join the team USA for the upcoming tournament has created a lot of buzz, and at this point Curry has made his true feelings about it abundantly clear:
“I’m more than excited about the opportunity,” Curry said, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. “Knowing Coach Kerr is in charge and … I was a member of both World Cup teams and anybody who’s experienced both will tell you the Olympics are way different. They all say it’s not even close in terms of mood, atmosphere, build-up, adrenaline and all that. I’m not sure what the chances are, because you never know what’s going to happen, but I definitely want to have that experience at some point.”
As Steph mentioned, the fact that Steve Ker will be the head coach of Team USA for the Olympics influenced Curry’s decision to join the squad. It’s not official yet, but you can bet Coach Kerr will include his superstar in the starting lineup. Why wouldn’t he anyway?
Curry has yet to compete in the Olympics, but he almost certainly will next summer. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get injured by then, because that seems to be the only thing standing in the way of Steph leading the charge for Team USA at the 2024 Olympic Games.
