The show, which follows the titular football coach (Jason Sudeikis) in charge of the fictional AFC Richmond team, shared its second season in the summer of 2021 and recently teased its return.

It has now been confirmed that the show will return to screens this spring, with Apple also sharing a first look image of Lasso and his former colleague and now enemy Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed).

“Time to win the whole damn thing,” reads the teaser. Check it out below.

Last summer, Mohammed talked about the possibility of the show ending with the upcoming third season.

It came after co-star Brett Goldstein claimed they were “writing” the season as if it would be the last, admitting the show was always “planned as three”.

Speaking about the show’s longevity and whether it could go on for several more seasons, Mohammed admitted he didn’t know where things were going, but could see the “appeal” of ending it at three o’clock.

“I don’t know, that’s the honest answer,” he shared Discussing movies. “I’m not trying to tease, I don’t know if it’s the end or not. I mean, they’ve been pretty open about saying they had three seasons of ideas.”

However, the show’s star and executive producer Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) hinted last year that the first three seasons are only part of one “arc” and that “another arc is possible after this”.

“We’ve always seen it as kind of a three-act thing,” he said of the show’s potential continuation. “Originally the three more beats were supposed to be modeled after what The office did, you know, six eps, one special, boom, we’re done. We’ve definitely expanded those beats, but that doesn’t mean the whole kit and caboodle is thrown out.”
