Elise Finch (February 24, 1972 – July 16, 2023) was an American television meterologist who worked for WCBS-TV in New York City from 2007. Formerly with NBC’s Early Today, CBS Phoenix, Arizona station KPHO and CBS and Fox Youngstown, Ohio affiliate WKBN and ABC Austin, Minnesota affiliate KAAL. According to WCBS, Finch died at a local hospital; the cause of her death has not been confirmed.
“Elise has been a friend and team member at WCBS for 16 years,” the station said in a statement. “Elise was a gifted and consummate professional who was meticulous in her work.” She was also an outstanding community ambassador, especially in her birthplace of Mount Vernon. Above all, Elise was a fiercely loving and dedicated mother to her daughter Grace, as well as the wife of Graig Henriques, a WCBS photojournalist.”
Finch, who was last seen on the WCBS newscast on Friday, July 14, was remembered as a beloved colleague and friend. “Elise was fiercely loyal to those she loved, a straight shooter, a consummate professional and made me laugh until I cried,” WCBS weekend evening anchor Jessica Moore tweeted. “But most importantly, she was completely devoted to her family, especially her daughter Grace.” I adore you, my dear friend. Heaven now has a unique angel.”
“My heart is broken,” tweeted WCBS anchor Chris Wragge. Our group will never be the same again. No one could match his musical wit. I’m going to miss you terribly.”

In April 2007, Finch joined the CBS New York weather team. She previously worked at NBC as a meteorologist for the “Early Today Show,” MSNBC and NBC Weather Plus. Finch previously worked as a weekend weather anchor at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona, and as an anchor and reporter at the CBS and Fox affiliates in Youngstown, Ohio, as well as the ABC network in Austin, Minn. Finch started his television career working behind the scenes at E! Entertainment Television as production coordinator for special projects and live events.
Elise Dione Finch Henriques grew up in Mount Vernon, New York, and attended Mount Vernon High School. She graduated with honors from Georgetown University, where she received one of the famous presidential awards. She then earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University. Finch is a graduate of Mississippi State University’s broadcast meteorology school and carries the American Meteorological Society’s seal of approval.
