According to Variety, the singer-songwriter died at the age of 81 after struggling “long illness.”

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved David (Croz) Crosby after a long illness.

Jan, his soulmate, and his son, Django, surrounded him with love.

Although he is no longer with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us.

“His legendary music will carry on his legacy.”

David Crosby’s professional career

David Crosby was a founding member of The Byrdstogether with Gene Clark, Chris Hillman and Michael Clarkefrom 1964 to 1967.

Later he formed Crosby, Stills & Nash with Graham Nash and Stephen Stills; Neil Young later joined the band and added his surname to the project’s name.

Crosby was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his outstanding work with both musical groups.
