Alec Baldwin is charged with involuntary manslaughter for his role in Rust shooting. Over a year ago, tragedy struck on the set of the western film Rust when the cast and crew were rehearsing a scene and a prop gun accidentally went off, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. It was quickly revealed that Alec Baldwin was the one holding the gun, and he has repeatedly denied pulling the trigger. Production of Rust has been suspended indefinitely while New Mexico authorities investigate the incident.

Now that investigation has been completed, and according to The Wall Street Journalprosecutors plan to charge Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter for his role in the Rust shooting. The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, is also expected to be charged with involuntary manslaughter. The film’s first assistant director, David Halls, has pleaded guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon.
